Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel was in Mid-Michigan on Friday to help teach seniors to avoid scams.
Nessel joined state representative Jasper Martus at the Krapohl Senior Center in Mt. Morris Township Friday morning.
They provided information about common scams targeting the elderly. They gave helpful tips on how to identify scams and avoid them.
“If you get one of these calls and someone says to you, ‘Look, you’ve got to do this right away,'” says Nessel. Say you know what? I’m going to look into that, but first, I am going to call the Department of the Attorney General and ask some questions about it. Nine times out of ten, you’re going to hear a click.”
